PUSH BACK THE DARKNESS
I Hold My Head Up And Keep Doing What I'm Doing
I’m a teacher history and social sciences with the local school board in Toronto.  I teach in an area that has a large number of Muslim students.
Although at times it feels as if I’m just a number and not making a difference, or feeling defeated, I know my very existence at the school at some minute level makes a difference.  So I hold my head up and keep doing what I’m doing in the hopes that at some level I might be impacting the way people (staff and students) think about Islam, hopefully at some level positively.
That’s how I try to bring some light during these bleak times.  Surely with light comes hope.  Here’s to hoping for a better future for my children and all children in Canada.
